Tacto al Arte

We are a proud Mexican company, from Monterrey N.L.
Together with ExpertSys, we create pictures in 3D bas-relief, with this creation we focus on being able to convey the feeling of any work of art towards blind people. With this charming project we want to convey emotions to realize dreams in this world of art. We are the first company worldwide to create this project which makes us proud especially the contribution we give to the community with the desire to persevere improvements.

What do we want for the future?

We seek to be the start of a project that can be expanded internationally, being present in any museum where the blind can already feel and experience from a fossil to paintings by famous authors.

MISSION: We are an innovative company, we create 3D embossed pictures to convey to blind people the feeling of appreciating the art world. We are pioneers of replicating these works with the desire to contribute also to society. "Having Touch to Art"!, our Slogan.

Objective

The World Blind Union (WBU) is the world organization representing the nearly 253 million people worldwide who are blind or visually impaired. "Our members are organizations of and for the blind in 190 countries, as well as international organizations working in the field of visual impairment".

Our goal, together with The World Blind Union (WBU), access to all organizations and foundations in different countries, in order to gain access to the directors of museums and local governments, and thus be able to generate an artistic collection in 3d, in order to open a window to the world of art, for blind and visually impaired people.

The goal is to have in every important city, a 3d tactile museum, to expand the world of art to this group of people, having Mexico as the 3d Art Development Center, in partnership with ExpertSys, leading company in 3d modeling, with over 25 years of experience.

Nowadays

It is incredible that museums as important as El Museo del Prado, El Museo de Louvre, or the British Museum, have a cultural heritage for the blind and visually impaired, with such poor quality. We think we can cooperate greatly with these institutions to achieve a spectacular experience.

We think that one of the great sponsors of this project, could be the museums. Together with them, we can generate 3d works, to include this so important part of our society.

Software Development

At this time, Tacto al Arte, with the help of ExpertSys, is developing a software, which will be able to convert an ASCII text (Text), into an STL file, which can be printed on any 3d printer, to generate physical tablets in Braille.

A simple and cost-effective process that will allow organizations to generate educational materials, instructions, notices and any text they deem appropriate. The cost of the software will be so low, that even the private sector will be able to afford to 3d print their content on site, in a durable and low-cost material. A percentage of the profits of this software, will be used to support selected organizations.

Proof of Concept

ExpertSys, in hand with "Destellos de Luz" (Mexican Organization dedicated to Education, Training and Medical Aid for the blind and visually impaired), decided to make a Proof of Concept, which consisted of showing several works, fossils, fine art prints and 3d braille text boards, to teachers and blind children, which turned out to be a success, so much so, they were kind enough to issue a document, in which they endorse the utility and interest, for this project.

Comments from teachers and children, filled us with pride and desire to continue on this path.

We hereby declare that the works presented to us by Mr. Maximiliano Marquez "TACTO al ARTE", are made of a fully palpable and understandable material for a visually impaired person.

Our students had the opportunity to play the paintings, to which, his comments were very positive, so also, they say they are happy than somebody thinks about people with visual impairment and they had the opportunity to appreciate the Art; which doesn't happen in museums, because it is understandable that they are works that should not be touched, but that someone thinking of making replicas is applauded.
